Located just blocks from Golden Gate Park and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, The Laurel School’s surrounding neighborhood is full of rich history. From historic churches to multicultural shops and restaurants to the museums of Golden Gate Park, our students have a community full of educational potential right at their fingertips.

Because of its close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, San Francisco enjoys a mild climate nearly year-round. It’s the perfect weather to enjoy outdoor shopping, sight-seeing, and sporting activities year-round. Please get to know our community better. Local Attractions

Conservatory of Flowers: Located at Golden Gate Park, the Conservatory of Flowers introduces visitors to the love of ecology, botany, and history. Its mission is “to connect people and plants in a place of exceptional beauty.”

Golden Gate Bridge: This tourist attraction offers tours and a research library as well as transportation via bridge, ferry, or public transit. It’s often on the list of must-see locations for visitors to our area.

Pier 39: This waterfront park features shops, restaurants, and spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay. Family attractions abound in the form of theaters, musical stairs, a mirror maze, an aquarium, and several attractions on the water.

Academy of Sciences: Also located at the Golden Gate Park, this scientific institution's mission is to "to explore, explain, and sustain life."

de Young Museum: This landmark museum is proud to showcase priceless art collections that will inspire visitors from around the world.
